A Little About Me…

Hello and welcome! My name is Shelly Caldwell Sapp. I was introduced to Stampin’ Up! about 30 years ago when I was invited to a Stampin’ Up! party. The moment I felt the quality of the cardstock in my hands and saw that the ink and pens matched the DSP and cardstock, I was hooked. I fell in love with Stampin’ Up! I didn’t know how to stamp at the time, but I was crafty and quickly became a dedicated student. I attended classes at the demonstrator’s house and my local scrapbook store, eager to learn all the techniques and how to layer my cards to highlight the stamped images. I couldn’t learn enough, fast enough, and I couldn’t buy enough Stampin’ Up! products.

I live in Northville, MI, with my husband, Steve. We have five grown children and four grandchildren. I “retired” from full-time nursing in 2016. At that point, my four oldest children were off living their adult lives—marriage, military service, and careers—while my youngest was a junior in high school. I wanted to place a large Stampin’ Up! order, so I decided to sign up and take advantage of a great deal on a kit—free is always good! I received tons of free items with that order and then enjoyed a 20% discount on everything else I wanted. It was so exciting to receive those large Stampin’ Up! orders, and at that stage of life, I had plenty of time to enjoy it all.

I soon realized that “retirement” wasn’t well suited to my type A personality. I wondered… maybe it would be fun and fulfilling to do a little more with Stampin’ Up! to satisfy my need to “work”.  I set my first goal.   A Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator has to have a certain amout of orders in each quarter of the year.  When I needed something, I placed large orders, but didn’t always need something every month.  I thought it would be nice to have a couple customers that ordered frequently enough to meet my minimum requirement.  I considered Paper Pumpkin as a way to help meet that goal. I had just signed up for Paper Pumpkin two months before and was having a blast designing alternate projects with the kits. I knew if I was having that much fun, other people would love it too.  I figured out how many Paper Pumpkin friends I needed to join me to help accomplish that goal and achieved that goal quickly! Our little Paper Pumpkin club met monthly to create alternate projects together. That was just the beginning; I continue to set and achieve goals with Stampin’ Up!
Stampin’ Up! is a wonderful community of like minded people, the comraderie is fantastic!  My team and engagement with them is simply wonderful. We have so much fun!

I love sharing techniques and fun folds and teaching new stampers how to create the beautiful things that stampers do. Paper has truly been my passion since childhood.

When I’m not playing with ink and paper, I am the director of nursing for a small home care agency. I enjoy spending time at my “up north” cottage, cherishing moments with my now seven children and four grandchildren, bird watching, genealogy research, quilting, jewelry making, creating bath and body products, and so much more!
